HedgeZero

Paulo always wanted to form a band that would play 90's alternative rock. So around mid-2006,he set out to find musicians that share his passion and love for music. It was also around this time that Aj became his teammate in their office. Sensing that Aj looks like a rocker because of his long hair and tight jeans, Paulo approached him and the two became good friends. They started jamming at Paulo's place. Tapping Colin, Paulo's band mate back in High school, to play the drums and Erwin to play the bass, the group started jamming as a band covering songs by Live, Dishwalla, etc.

After a few sessions though, Erwin decided to leave the band because he prefers to play for a show band which could help him earn his bread and butter. For a while the group didn't have a bass player. After a lot of convincing, Noel, Paulo's band mate from a ska-punk band, agreed to take over the bass. It was also at this time that Joshua, the friend of Paulo's sister, became the band's new drummer. But since his(Joshua) schedule didn't fit the band, they needed to find a new drummer. Finding a drummer that would complement the style of music they were after proved to be more difficult than they anticipated. A few weeks later, Mike, who they met through an online forum, was selected for his skills on the drums and for his ability to augment the type of music they wanted to attain.

With the line-up seemingly complete, they renamed the band to Hedge. The band played in various bars and production events. In the process of writing their original songs, they felt that they still needed to thicken their sound. This led them to search for another guitarist. Again, they went through the tedious process of looking for another member that would fit the part. In came JP, who was Paulo's former classmate in elementary. JP injected his style of ambient guitar that 'thickened' and completed the feel of their songs. Mike, being a former guitarist himself, also gave additional riffs that further enhanced their songs. The line-up is now complete.

Soon after, they found out that there are other bands named 'Hedge' so they decided to rename the band to HedgeZero. The band released their first EP, Realize, on Feb 11, 2008. Tracks are Suicide Solution, Ode, Release Me, Distant Voices.

After more than a year of playing with the band, Jp had to leave the band to work in Singapore. Ronald, Mike's younger brother, is now the new guitar player of Hedgezero.
